Everything you need to navigate, contribute to, and get the most out of UMATTR Career Circle.
Welcome to UMATTR Career Circle — a professional network built around authenticity, career intelligence, and real human connection. Unlike traditional platforms, Career Circle keeps the feed high-signal by design: no endless scroll of vanity metrics, just actionable conversations, live sessions, and verified opportunities.
When you first sign in, take a moment to complete your profile, join one or two Circles that match your industry or interests, and browse the feed to get a feel for the community. Career Circle is currently in Alpha, which means you are among the first members to shape its culture and direction. Your feedback directly influences how we grow.
Navigation is straightforward: the sidebar (desktop) and bottom navigation bar (mobile) give you quick access to your Feed, Circles, Signal sessions, Career Intelligence dashboard, and your Profile. The search bar at the top lets you find specific people, companies, or conversations.
Posts are how you contribute your perspective, share experiences, and open conversations with the community. When writing a post, lead with substance: share what you actually learned, a question you're genuinely trying to answer, or an experience that others in your field will recognize. Vague motivational content, uncontextualized links, and pure self-promotion rarely add value and may be moderated.
Formatting your post for readability matters. Use short paragraphs and clear language. If you're sharing a resource or article, add a sentence explaining why it's worth reading — that context is what makes the difference between signal and noise.
Comments are where the real conversations happen. Engage constructively: add your perspective, ask a follow-up question, or share a relevant experience. Disagreement is healthy when it's professional and specific. Personal attacks, dismissive one-liners, and off-topic replies will be removed.
During the Alpha phase, Career Circle uses a controlled invite system to grow the community intentionally. Access is granted either through our waitlist or through invite codes distributed to active members, partners, and organizations.
If you have been granted invite privileges, you can generate codes from your Account Settings under the 'Invites' tab. Each code is tied to your account. We encourage you to invite colleagues and peers who will actively participate and contribute to a high-quality environment.
Please use your invite allocation responsibly. Inviting individuals who go on to violate community guidelines reflects on your account standing. If you have not yet received an invite and are on the waitlist, you will be notified by email when your access is ready.
Your profile is your professional identity on Career Circle. A complete profile increases your visibility to peers, hiring managers, and companies on the platform. At minimum, set a clear display name, your current or most recent role, and a short headline that describes what you do or what you are looking for.
Upload a professional avatar — it does not have to be formal, but it should be a genuine representation of you. Write a bio that highlights your key areas of expertise, what kinds of conversations you want to have, and what you hope to find on the network.
You can optionally link your public portfolio, GitHub profile, or personal website from your profile settings. These links are visible to other authenticated members and can help hiring managers or collaborators learn more about your work. All profile information can be updated at any time from the 'Edit Profile' section under your account.
The Companies directory is where verified organizations participate in Career Circle as active members of the community — not just as advertisers. Companies can host Signal AMAs, post live job opportunities, publish updates, and engage directly with professionals in their industry.
All job listings on Career Circle are subject to our authenticity standards. We do not permit 'ghost jobs' — listings that are not actively hiring or that exist solely for data collection. Verified employer accounts are reviewed by our team before being granted the ability to post open roles.
If you work for an organization that wants to establish a company presence on Career Circle, navigate to the Companies section and select 'Create Company Page'. The page creation process includes a verification step to ensure accurate representation. Once approved, your organization can begin engaging with the community.
UMATTR Signal is our integrated live audio and video layer, built directly into Career Circle. Signal sessions range from intimate 1-on-1 mentorship conversations to large-scale company AMAs, portfolio reviews, panel discussions, and community roundtables. No third-party software required — Signal runs natively in your browser or mobile device.
When hosting a Signal session, you can configure it as open (anyone can join) or invite-only. You control who has speaking rights and can promote participants from the audience to the stage at any time. Sessions can be scheduled in advance and will appear in the Signal discovery section for others to find.
When attending as a participant, use the hand-raise feature to signal that you want to speak. Keep your background quiet if you plan to contribute audio. The in-session live chat lets you comment, react, and share links without interrupting the speaker. Session metadata — such as who attended — is retained per our Privacy Policy.
The Career Intelligence system is UMATTR's AI-powered insight layer. It aggregates anonymized data on hiring activity, compensation benchmarks, emerging skills, role requirements, and industry trends to give you a real-time picture of where your career sits in the broader market.
Use the Intelligence dashboard to ask specific questions: 'What is the median salary for a senior product manager in fintech?' or 'Which skills are most in-demand for data engineers right now?' The system synthesizes data from verified sources and presents it in plain language, with context about regional differences, seniority tiers, and market momentum.
Your personal queries are not shared publicly, and no personally identifiable information is surfaced in aggregate trend data. The Intelligence system is actively being trained and expanded during Alpha — if you notice gaps or inaccuracies, please use the feedback option within the dashboard to help us improve.
Career Circle is designed to be a professional space where every member feels safe to participate authentically. We enforce our Community Guidelines actively and take reports seriously. If you encounter harassment, spam, impersonation, or any behavior that makes the space feel unsafe, use the three-dot menu on any post, comment, or profile to submit a report.
Reports are reviewed confidentially by our moderation team. We do not reveal the identity of reporters. Depending on the severity of the violation, outcomes may range from content removal and a warning to temporary suspension or permanent account termination.
You can also control your own experience directly: block or mute any account that you do not want to hear from, and manage who can see and comment on your posts through your privacy settings. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may contact our team to request a review.
Need help navigating the platform, have feedback on your Alpha experience, or encountered a technical issue? Visit our Help Center for answers to the most common questions, or use the 'Report a Problem' option from your account menu to send us a direct message.
For trust and safety issues — such as harassment, impersonation, or threats — please use the in-platform report function for the fastest response. Our moderation team reviews safety reports on a priority basis.
For all other inquiries, reach the UMATTR team through the Contact UMATTR page. We are a small, dedicated team during the Alpha phase and aim to respond to all messages within 48 hours on business days.
